Due to the drive and enthusiasm of a few young men Wessex RFC now have a Colts team. The club obviously hope that this team will be successful and that in time many of these players will mature into players able to compete for places in the 1^st and 2^nd XV.

This first season will obviously be a crucial one and whilst the club have been able to set the ball in motion we are still looking for more players, supporters and volunteers to help out with the organisational side.

The majority of the players are still U17 so they will have 2 years as colt’s players before hopefully moving on to the senior teams. With this in mind the colts train with the men (Tuesday and Thursday - meet 6:45pm at Flowerpot Fields for training from 7:00 to 8:30),so they are learning the same moves and calls to make the transition into the adult sides as seamless as possible.

Colts team after their first match at Kingsbridge

Wessex RFC Colts play at Cowick Barton Playing Fields. Access and parking can be found in Barton Road (turn right off Church Path Road) in Exeter. There is a one-way system of roads around this area and it is suggested that vehicle access is via Cowick Lane. The next closest  access (pedestrian) to the changing rooms is available via Ferndale Road.

To get to the ground

From the M5 :
exit at Junction 31 onto the A30 signpost to Bodmin/Okehampton.
Take the first exit (signpost Exeter/Ide) and take the Exeter exit (A377).
Turn left (off Alphington Road) at traffic lights and join traffic going left into Cowick Lane. Follow the road and take the fifth exit on the right into Church Path Road. Turn right into Barton Road where you will find the car park.
